Hi! In 2021 I set about the task of finding a proper van to convert into living space for what became a 23,000 mile, year long road-trip throughout the US and Canada.
Van prices were through the roof at this time, but after much searching, I found this gem for sale at Gladstone Mitsubishi in Gladstone Oregon, about 630 mi north of my home in the SF Bay Area. Interestingly, Amazon owned title on this vehicle, it was deemed excess fleet inventory and placed for sale at auction with only 600 miles on the odometer. Super clean!
I liken building one of these to building a submarine. All metal, curved and rounded surfaces, and never in a perfectly flat position. Thankfully there's a plethora of Youtube videos to assist, and I chose to follow "Brit & Mike" lead on the foundational build. What I can say is the build has proven to be rock solid with zero issues.
I'm now onto another chapter, and am offering this 1 of 1 limited edition, DIY van For Sale.
